This is Lisa Becky's sister. Becky wanted me to update her blog for you. Ellie had surgery on Saturday. Becky took Ellie back to the doctor and hospital on Friday and they decided she needed to go to the hospital in Denver. So her, Chris and Ellie drove to Denver Friday night. They performed surgery on Ellie Saturday at 1:00pm. She had a mal-roation of the gut and she also had her appendix removed. Basically with the gut part of the surgery her small and large intestines were too close together. After the surgery they stuck a tube in her nose to clean out her stomach. There was a lot more fluid in her stomach than the doctor had anticipated. As of last night at 6:30pm, as long as Ellie was doing well, they were planning on taking out the tube and maybe giving her some food. When I visited her yesterday she had an iv stuck in her arm, tube in her nose and patches stuck to her chest. Pretty hard to see on such a tiny baby! Becky has been staying the night at the hospital so she hasn't had a chance to update this blog. They are planning on keeping Ellie at the hospital for a couple more days. If I hear new news I'll update her blog for you otherwise Becky and Ellie will hopefully be home in a few days.

Ok I'm back with an update...9:00am 2/12/07
They took out the nose tube last night and Ellie didn't even cry. Tough girl! They started giving her a little Pedialight (sp?). Ellie is doing good. She hasn't gotten sick. Becky said she slept a lot last night so Becky got caught up on a little sleep. Chris, Neal, Carol and Emma are headed up to the hospital for a visit. They still aren't sure when Ellie will get to go home but we're hoping in the next day or two.
