week of change

The big event this week was Ellie turning 2 and that meant she is now a "big girl" just like her big sissy! So on Monday, we took her bottle away at bedtime (yes, this is the one thing we have let our girls have until they each turned 2 - good or bad, it is what it is). Ellie freaked out at nap time a couple of days, but has done great! I used to read separately to them at bedtime since Ellie went down first because she was the baby. When we took the bottle away, we let her do bedtime stories with Emma since she is a big girl now. She thinks it is pretty cool! She seems so excited to get to do big girl stuff, she has forgotten all about the lack of bottle. Phew! Here is a picture I took last night of our bedtime ritual. Chris was home in time to read to them and they thought it was pretty cool to have daddy do it. They always have to read in mommy's bed before moving to their's. . . .

I thought I would also capture some of things the girls "sayings" this week . . .

**At lunch yesterday, Emma burped and said excuse me.

Mama said: "Emma, it's not polite to burp at the table."

Emma said: "Should I burp on the floor mommy?"

(All I could do was laugh. I didn't know how to respond.)

**At breakfast, I told Emma we had to hurry it up so that we could get ready for the day. And she says, "you're killin' mom!"

**Ellie's top phrases this week have been:

"bless you"

"I did it mommy"

"help help"

"bottle all gone"

"I do it"

"me too me too me too" (always has to do whatever Emma is doing!)

They keep it entertaining!!!
